Exploring Life and Faith together
Being With is a way of exploring faith and life together—discovering that God is with you, and has been all along.
It’s for anyone who’s curious about faith—or wondering if the Christian faith has something meaningful to offer.
It’s for those who feel on the edge of church life—disconnected, hurt, uncertain, or simply searching for something deeper. It’s also for those who’ve never explored faith before but feel open to discovering more together with others.
It’s about sharing stories about our lives and hearing the stories of others.
These stories are the small things that mean a lot to us and they can also be the most challenging and life-changing moments of our lives.
There’s a space for every person’s life and story.
The only thing you are asked to do is be prepared to listen to others’ stories and maybe share your own.
Exploring topics like meaning, Jesus, church, suffering, prayer and the cross.
There is no judgement, no wrong answers and no prescribed path. It's authentic and real.
But don’t just take our word for it. Read what participants have said below.
Each person is celebrated.
What if our real human problem is isolation?
Our world believes our problem is limitation – not enough resources, information, wisdom.
But if we think the problem is isolation what we need is all around us: it’s all about relationships.
Being With creates opportunities to make significant relationships.
Through those relationships, we realise the truth we already know and discover truth through the experience of others.
We can’t wait to hear your stories and experiences and journey with you, discovering truth, beauty and goodness.
The Core Course: where most people begin
Most people first walk the Being With way through the ten-week Core Course. Here’s what happens…
It runs online and in person equally well. The group will have up to 12 participants and two Hosts. The time is made up of four sections. There is a specific way of listening carefully that allows space for sharing.
Welcome: In the first week the group are asked what has brought them to the course and in the weeks after that the question is: what is the heart of your week? We ask everyone to respond to this. It can be telling the group anything about the week, big or small.
Wonderings: these relate to the story that follows. They are not questions, but a space for people to share experiences of things like freedom, or feeling trapped by something.
Story: The story is about 8 minutes on a different topic each week, covering different aspects of the Christian faith from perhaps a perspective you've not heard before.
Reflection: Then there is a discussion usually related to the wonderings or the talk but can be about anything the group would like to talk about. The opening question is: what is in your heart or your head?
